Kashmir is the Northern-Most tip of India.
The Royalty of Kashmiri costume is in their Handwork Embroidery and Costume. The tradition ‘Poots and Pherans’ is the most famous dress in the world. The headdress they wear is called TARANGA. They accessories themselves with Earrings, Anklets and Bangles. And how can we forget those huge pendants they wear in there neckline. Those neckpeices are called DEJHAROOS. (Fun fact those are the mangalsutras of Panditanis of Kashmir).

Man’s there wear Pherans. It is a loose gown, until below the knee. Muslims wears Salwars and Hindus there wear Pyjamas.

They also wear Fur Skull Caps with the none other than Pashmina Shawl.
The shoes they wear are called GURGABIS.
And how can we forget the textile they have given to the world. THE SHAWLS AND CARPETS.
The most famous Kashmiri Shawls are Pashmina and Shahtoosh.
Shahtoosh shawls are made from the wool of TIBETAN ANTELOPE. This are extremely expensive Shawls (5000-20000 USD) (INR starting from 350000/-) because the wool used in this shawl is Extremely scarce.

Pashmina are made from the wool of the KEL SHEEP. This shawls are Extremely soft and most sold Shawls in the state. Pashmina ranges from 300-1000 USD OR INR Starting from 21000/-.

It is considered that KASHMIRI CARPETS are originally originated from PERSIA. The fiber they use in this Carpets are SILK AND WOOL. They Carpets there usually depict the story. And the most used story in there Carpets shown there are “TREE OF LIFE”
